Thing 1 Thing 2 Gift Idea for Twins

A gal pal in my mom's group is having twins soon and our group threw her a little sprinkle (mini shower). They do not know the sex of the twins so I needed to make something gender neutral. I decide to make he a little bib set with the theme of Dr. Seuss twins, Thing 1 and Thing 2.  I have a few little tweaks to make but, for the most part I think they turned out pretty cute.

Congratulations Donna and family!

"LOVE" Door Hanger

Here is my Valentines door hanger. I just finished it up today!

I had a hard time coming up with something that was not already on the web or in stores.  I created a challenge for myself. What could I create that was simple, beautiful, and different? Also, what do I already have at home to make it for FREE!

I had cardboard form a diaper box, red paint, red knit jersey fabric, red/white gingham fabric, and moss.

Here is what I came up with. I "LOVE" it!

I started by cutting out letters from the cardboard box and painted them red.

While the paint dried I cut 1 inch strips of red fabric. I then gathered the fabric to make ruffles by using a wide strait stitch down the center.

I just used my hot glue gun to adhere the ruffles to the letters.

Using cardboard again, I cut out a heart shape to make the "O" in LOVE. I just hot glued the moss on.

I made 1 inch bias tape out of the red and white gingham fabric to use as a bow and string the letters together.

 Challenge complete!

Bathroom Towel Redo

This is a total drab to fab project! I've had the same bathroom towels for years. They are cream and just plain boring.

If you follow my blog you know I'm all about using what you have and bringing new life to old items. I stored away a tablecloth that I bought for $7 on clearance at TJ Max (I LOVE this store). I knew it would never be use for my table as it is way to large but, the design is beautiful and warm and who could pass on that price.

Here is the tablecloth.

Valentines Crayon Roll-Up

Yep, my mind is already going there. Valentines Day! I made this fun crayon roll-up for Sophia and also one to add to my etsy shop. Don't you just love the fabric! I love the fun and fresh colors and that it does not just say "Valentines" but, could pass for everyday hearts.
Now to just come up with a fun idea for the front door. Stay tuned!

Happy New Year!

Happy 2011! How Crazy is that? Don't know about you but, 2010 just flew by. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. Our family Christmas was wonderful but, the next day we all woke up sick as dogs with colds! It's lasted all the way into the new year. :(

Can't wait to see what 2011 will bring. God Bless!
